Shot on my second-ever flight with a DJI Mavic Air.
The waves in Half Moon Bay are so gnarly right now, they even canceled Mavericks.
Which is why I went to check it out -- with the help of a DJI Mavic Air drone.

According to Twitter, today is #NationalSunglassesDay. Which is why I thought I'd take a moment to make an important public service announcement:
I only wear polarized lenses. For best results, you should, too. Here's why: My "thing" is playfulness -- which, according to dozens of young adults who participated in my research, often involves being silly. Makes sense. I love being silly! But sometimes, it's hard, right? Because it's easy to worry what people think?
I've written about three proven ways to stop caring what others think. Here's a fourth: find a legit excuse to be silly. Like... the entire month of October. Which ends in one of my favorite holidays: Halloween! To that end, here are some perfectly silly and amazing Halloween shoes.
Oh. My. Goodness.
Amazon's got this great little page called Interesting Finds, where they show you cute urban home and clothing items. They claim it's "updated daily," though I feel like I mostly see the exact same stuff every time I visit... I know that most people aren't into mushy, over-the-top love stuff like I am. BUT IF YOU ARE! I Like You, I Love You, by Carissa Potter, is an adorable "extended Valentine" you might really enjoy.
Because, first of all, that cover is hilarious and amazing. (Even though I definitely wouldn't wear lacy underwear for someone I only liked -- it's still funny.) Behind every living man... is a woman who nursed him through his man flu.
In general, I hate gender stereotypes. But this one is definitely true.
How cute are these??!!! According to my newsfeed, they just walked down the runway during the Thom Browne fashion show... meaning, sadly, that they probably won't be available till March 2017.
But what if I don't want to wait that long? And what if I typically don't spend $1,200 on a pair of shoes?
It's graduation season, and I would be remiss not to recommend Andrew Yang's Smart People Should Build Things: How to Restore Our Culture of Achievement, Build a Path for Entrepreneurs and Create New Jobs in America to everyone who is graduating, or knows someone who is.
I recently published Pearce Ferry Rapid: Then and Now, in which I discussed some awesome nonessential gear for your Grand Canyon (or, really, any) trip. I thought some of these items deserved their own post, because they are that incredibly awesome.
Without further ado: 1. Water Sports Lighted Bocce Ball Set, $49.99. Probably more suitable for rafters than kayakers, due to size constraints. But perfect for nighttime entertainment. |
