I love young adulthood -- it's such an interesting time with so many possibilities! This might be why, of all the strange and amazing jobs I've had (including advertising, archeology, anthropology, marketing and a lot of writing), my most meaningful professional experiences have always involved working with teens. I also recognize that growing numbers of gifted students feel anxious, depressed, or just a little empty -- often because the perceived road to success leaves little time for self-discovery. Which is why I started Paved With Verbs, my college and high school admissions essay service. To me, applying to school is a chance for students to reflect on their hard work, awards, extracurriculars and achievements, and connect it with the bigger picture -- them! It's about discovering meaning, then putting it into words that will help admissions officers feel like they really know you. If you or someone you know is applying to college or boarding school this fall, and need a little (or a lot of) help, check out some of the services I provide. I can guide you through the entire process, or we can just do hourly consults, depending on your needs. I'm also available to meet online via Skype or Google Hangout.
