Just a muscle man shirt ($20) and a navy blue one-piece ($20-$40) and you're set.
I don't always use my Halloween costume to make a political statement. Sure, I've gone as Sandra Fluke and microaggressions. I even went as the Little Mermaid -- beforeâ it was controversial! But I've also gone as Bethany Hamilton (a disabled female surfer I admire) and a spoonbill, just because I like them. But in 2022, women's rights are under attack in a profound way -- and that attack is coming from the regressive left. Which is why this is the year to poke fun at anti-woman activists who want to erase women's sex-based rights, sports, and female-only spaces. It is atrocious that the NCAA allowed Liar Thomas, a male athlete who used to compete as a mediocre man, to obliterate literal female Olympians in women's DI swimming -- without even kicking!
There are those who say not to blame Liar, because it was the NCAA who allowed him to compete against women and technically he broke no rules. But the NCAA did not force him to compete against women. Whether he decided to do that because he is delusional and truly thought it was fair, or because he is sociopathic, and doesn't care how unfair it is, it was not right to allow him to compete, and it was not right for him to decide to compete against women. There is no scientific debate on this matter. The unfairness of males in women's sports is a matter of scientific consensus. I've read at least 15 peer reviewed studies that all show the exact same thing: Even after three years on hormones, the male advantage never goes away. There is no fair and safe way for males to compete in women's sports. Even Joanna Harper, a trans-identifying male athlete who focuses on "inclusion", âconcluded that loss of muscle mass and strength is small, even after THREE YEARS on hormone therapy, and that a significant strength advantage over females is retained.
Image: Harper J, O'Donnell E, Sorouri Khorashad B, et al, How does hormone transition in transgender women change body composition, muscle strength and haemoglobin? Systematic review with a focus on the implications for sport participation, British Journal of Sports Medicine 2021
Liar Thomas deserves to be mocked for taking opportunities and dreams away from women who worked and sacrificed for them. And, frankly, he probably deserves âto be registered as a sex offender for walking around, semi-erect, in the girls' (literal girls -- there were 17-year-olds on that team) and women's locker room at UPenn. When the girls and women on the team complained that they were uncomfortable showering next to Liar, they were threatened and gaslighted by coaches and administrators. Some were called "bigots" and "transphobic" for not wanting to shower with a male. Others were threatened that they would lose their spot on the team and "never be able to get a job" if they complained publicly about Liar. This is some crazy, dystopian, 1984 shit. âBut it's the sad reality of women's rights in 2022. âWhile some sporting organizations, like the Irish Rugby Football Union, have responded to science, common sense, and basic human decency by making new rules banning males from women's sports (but obviously trans-identifying people are not banned from sports -- they just need to compete in the appropriate sex category: male), the situation for girls and women has mostly gotten worse since Liar stole the national title from women who deserved it. For example, Randolph High School in Vermont recently banned its entire girls volleyball team from using their own locker room after they complained not that a biological boy was changing in their locker room with them, which made them uncomfortable and violated their privacy, dignity, safety, and bodily autonomy... But that said biological boy made an inappropriate comment to the girls while they were undressed. In other words, the state ordered the girls to undress in front of a male who sexually harassed them. The state believes that in order to get an education or participate in sports, there is a certain number of penises these girls must see, consensually or otherwise, and that they don't get to decide which males see them naked. It's absolutely nuts that so many adults are willing to tell girls, "You are worthless. You are worthless. Your bodily autonomy doesn't matter. You don't get to decide what males do to your body. You are worthless. You do not deserve to decide. You do not deserve rights." Actually, it isn't nuts. It's heartbreaking. Even before this hateful, anti-woman movement swept society, we already had problems with girls being socialized to "be nice" and "be polite" and "be good girls," even when doing so put them in literal danger. But now, we've got girls and young women calling their mothers, crying, saying, "I want to get my head in the game, but I'm too worried about what I'll do if Lia comes into the locker room while I'm changing. I have no choice." Like I said. Heartbreaking. What have we done to these girls and young women to make them think they have no choice what males see them naked? Anyone with a heart, anyone who understands science, anyone who has common sense, can plainly see that this is wrong. But the movement is so steeped in male entitlement and male aggression that most people are too afraid to say anything to protect women's female-only spaces and women's sports. Which is why this costume is actually a really great, important choice. NO idea, religion, or ideology should be above criticism. NO topic should be off limits (see also: âYesterday, A Man Told Me I Should Be Jailed For My Opinions. We Both Live In America.), yet this anti-woman movement demands unquestioning obedience; anti-scientific faith-based beliefs; denial of that which one can plainly see with one's own eyes; and persecution of the non-believers. You have no idea how many people (hundreds) have privately messaged me, thanking me for defending women's sex-based rights. "I'd do it myself," they all say, "But I'm afraid I'll be fired/shunned/attacked by violent males/doxxed/etc." For those who are not afraid, it is important to normalize criticism of anti-woman ideas. It is important to normalize compassion and common sense. Males obviously do not belong in female-only spaces. Males obviously do not belong in women's sports. Women are oppressed because they have female bodies -- not because they have stupid, silly ladybrains, or because they "feel like" women. This is why we need female-only sports and spaces. This is why we need sex-based rights. This is why we must retain our right to be legally recognized as a distinct sex class. And that is why Liar Thomas is such a great choice for your 2022 Halloween costume. Let's normalize criticism. Let's defend women's sex-based rights. Let's shout out, loud and clear, that the emperor is naked. âThe costume is pretty cheap and easy. All you need is a muscle man shirt (or a ripped male body), ~$20.
Available on Amazon and elsewhere.
Bonus: Halloween is often cold, and this looks pretty warm. âAnd a one-piece swimsuit. UPenn's colors are blue and red, but black is probably close enough.
Available on Amazon and elsewhere.
Obviously, you'll want to order a few sizes up, since you're wearing it over a bulky, padded shirt. Bonus: You'll get to show off a little leg. If you're a dude, it will be hilarious. If you're a girl, it will be sexy. It's a win-win. You can accessorize with a swim cap and goggles, if you're so inclined. Maybe cut out a red and blue P and tape it to your suit. Oh. And don't forget. If you don't have a penis, you'll need a sock or a dildo or something. Erect, flaccid. You choose. Guess it depends if you're dressing for the pool or the locker room.
$15 on Amazon.
If you're someone who cares about women's sports but is afraid to publicly say something, there are several other ways you can get help save women's sports. One is by donating to or shopping at Save Women's Sports. Sadly, they are out of the cropped hoodie I wanted (I'm a full-time RVer, so it's hard for me to shop online -- I don't have a mailing address 90% of the time), but they have plenty of cute shirts, as well as stickers, buttons, postcards, and books. They also have several free resources and videos you can use and share to educate those around you about the importance of protecting girls' and women's sports. Arm yourself with knowledge about Title IX laws and policies, and enjoy theirinfographics and images about male vs. female bodies. You can also visit the Independent Council on Women's Sports (ICONS), where you can join the network, sign the general petition to governing bodies of sport and legislative authorities to protect female athletes from discrimination and exclusion on the basis of their sex, and sign the petition to US Rowing to protect female athletes from discrimination and exclusion on the basis of their sex by defining eligibility for the womenâs/girlâs categories to participants born female.
Sign the petition, or THIS will be the future of women's rowing.
Or perhaps you're hate reading this article because you're a sociopathic misogynist who wants to erase women's rights. Don't like my costume? I don't care. There's no need to bitch about me "being mean," because you're not going to convince me that it's "mean" to defend women's rights. Liar chose to steal a national championship from female athletes, when he could have done the right thing and competed against males. I don't feel bad mocking him or using him to make a point about misogyny that pretends it's "progressive." I will reiterate something I've said countless times online before: I have zero problem with trans-identifying people. Live how you want. Dress how you want. I don't care. HOWEVER. The moment you violate women's female-only spaces, you become a sociopathic predator, and I have a problem with you. The moment you enter women's sports, you become a cheater, and I have a problem with you. The moment you try to erase women's sex-based rights, I have a problem with you. The moment you try to prioritize male feelings over women's rights, dignity, privacy, bodily autonomy, fairness, and safety, I have a problem with you. âBecause you are a problem.

This is hilarious. I would totally use this brilliant idea if my genitals wouldn't flop out of the swimsuit.

Yeah... but forcing unconsenting people to look at your genitals is part of the point, so you could DEFINITELY go with this costume :P

You're probably not a fan of Alex Stein but he had an absolutely hilarious city council meeting appearance as a trans swimmer where he complains about having to tape his junk in order to fit in the swimsuit.

Lia Thomas is the type of person who would have taken steroids back in the day but now found an even easier loophole to taking the easy way out and still winning. They competed as a male swimmer at the college level and were mediocre then all of the sudden transitioned just in time to be a female swimmer. How convenient!

No one is forcing women to compete against trans women, fuckboy. They can simply refuse to do so, or prove that they are superior to men or trans women, athletically or otherwise, and then they can have all of the bragging rights that come with outperforming men and trans women on the same field of play.

Fuckboy is a hood term used to describe people like you who talk like they're about ish they aren't about and eventually get exposed for it by getting rolled or played in an embarrassing way. Don't use insults you only know because of the internet, fuckboy.

Calm down, fuccboi. I was just trying to explain to your heteronormative, whiny ass that things change, and you cannot always have your way. There are women who have been aching to get on the same playing field as men, and now that time has arrived, albeit in a way that wasn't exactly expected.

Why the fuck would I want to be boot-licking, kiss-ass like you? Rearrange my face? Nah, save your energy for fucking your mother. If you were "about it," (you 8-mile, slim shady wannabe fuck) you would need to do much more than rearrange my face. Trust.
