I always say that the best art is surprising, interactive and evocative. Because I'm right. It is.
And right now, there is a crazy cool interactive techno-global-art experience going on at Stanford called Shared Studios. You can sign up to participate for free.
Basically, you enter a "portal" and carve a wormhole through the world -- to Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Rwanda, Mexico, Cuba... and even a Syrian refugee camp.
Once inside, you are paired with a conversation partner on the other side of the world. It's eerily similar to real life. They are projected, life-size, in front of you, with surround sound and it feels just like you are together.
Participants have been sharing stories, music and art, sometimes collaborating on new pieces, and sometimes just walking away with a new perspective You can sign up for a conversation here.
