This Is One of The Most Powerful Psychology Hacks Ever Invented, And It Only Takes a Few Minutes.1/26/2016
The Happy Talent's original purpose was to promote playfulness and leisure skill development, but I quickly realized that there are many other ways to improve your life. Hence These Specific Behaviors Will Make You More Charismatic - Starting RIGHT Now; The Best Productivity Hack in the WHOLE WORLD... Is This One; and Money DOES Buy Happiness - IF You Know How to Spend It.
But somehow, I have failed to discuss one of the best psychology hacks in the whole world -- until now.
Basketball was my first love. I started playing around third grade, and have always loved being physical; getting aggressive; sprinting as fast as I can and jumping as high as possible. I played in elementary school. I played in middle school. I played in high school.
And then... I got to college. Unable to find a women's league within thirty minutes of campus -- and unable to find five women who would commit to a weekly intramural game -- I began playing pickup. Night after night, the courts were packed with me and 29 dudes. I couldn't help but wonder, Where are all the amazingly fierce female athletes I've been playing with my whole life?
Time is the most precious and irreplaceable thing in life, so I'm going to cut straight to the point:
I judge guys who ask me out for coffee. As a blogger, business owner, content marketing consultant, and creator (ask me about the super cool side-projects I've been working on!), I have very little free time. In spite of being busy, though, I don't let busy-ness consume my life. No matter how much work I've got piled up, I always make time to play basketball or rock climb during the week, and go surfing, whitewater kayaking or backpacking on the weekends. And, once again, I'm writing about mindfulness. Because mindfulness helps you feel happier. It makes you get better at everything. And can even make you eat less. It can help you control menstruation, digestion, immune responses, and a whole host of other things.
And, in 5 Ways to THINK Yourself Skinny: The Harvard Study That'll Shock You, I show that it can even help you lose weight – just by thinking! You don’t have to change anything else about your behavior. Here’s how:
Graduating from college and officially entering adulthood is exciting... but many recent grads are surprised by how much harder it is to make friends outside of school than it was in school. And it's true -- kids make friends way more easily than adults. For a zillion reasons: some you can help, some you can't.
I've spent a lot of time thinking about the best possible way to make more friends -- when you travel, as a child, as an adult. And this is probably THE NUMBER ONE WAY to make new friends as an adult: *** How One Rapper Brought a Whole 5th Grade Classroom to Tears (and Why UW-Madison is Awesome)8/19/2015 As a Paved With Verbs Life Coach and College Admissions Counselor, it is my job to know everything that's happening at every university at all times. Which is how I came upon this (warning: it's sort of a tearjerker -- but, like, totally happy tears):
What an amazing collaboration! Bringing mindfulness -- a centuries-old practice -- into the classroom seems to improve both academic performance and emotional well-being.
